Delegates’ Priorities Important
May 4th
Two events are happening this Saturday that are of critical importance to all of Utah’s citizens: the Republican and Democratic state conventions. Because of Utah’s unique election system, almost all of the candidates appearing on your ballot this November will be chosen by delegates to those conventions.
Frontrunner party to the state convention!
Apr 26th
Our state convention this year is on May 8th, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Registration begins at 9 am, caucus meetings at 9:30 am, and the general session at 11 am.
Believe it or not, both the Democratic and Republican state conventions are happening at the same time, same place! It should be exciting. But one other thing it will be: a parking nightmare!
There is a better way. We encourage all Weber Dems going to the state convention to join us on Frontrunner to the state convention! Not only do you avoid the traffic and parking hassles, you get to enjoy the fellowship of fellow Democrats.
To get to the Salt Palace by 9:30, you can catch Frontrunner at 8:16 am at the Ogden Station or 8:22 am at the Roy station. When you get to the Salt Lake hub, walk east to the Trax trains, get on (your Frontrunner ticket includes Trax fare), and take Trax to the City Center stop on 100 South. Walk one block west, and there you are! We’re going to meet in the back car upstairs, so look for us. Come dressed for the occasion (T-shirts, campaign buttons, funky hats etc.)
If you don’t want to leave quite that early, just come to the train station an hour later, and you’ll get to the Salt Palace by 10:30.
I look forward to seeing you there!
