WE ARE THE WEBER COUNTY DEMOCRATS

Our mission is to uphold traditional Utah ideals of patriotism, democracy, family, faith, hard work and community that have long shaped our society and to elect candidates that represent the people of Weber County with integrity, honesty, and Democratic values.

We believe in responsible government that represents and serves all the people; indeed we believe that’s what government is:  the people, organized to provide for the common good and to promote the values of civil society.  To achieve this end, citizens must be fully informed, frequently engaged and honestly represented by servants who adhere to the foundational American principles.

We believe it is the responsibility of the government to use the power granted by the governed to establish and maintain the rights of equality, fairness and justice for all citizens as stated by the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as added to and modified over the years, and that together they stand as the basis for and aspiration of freedom for all.

We stand for policies and programs that benefit all Utahns.  We seek to work together with people of all faiths, persuasions and circumstances to strengthen our families, our communities, our cities, our state, and our nation.

We advocate the preservation of communities and neighborhoods that work together to promote the welfare of their citizens. We support measures that strengthen Utah families both morally and temporally, whether that family consists of one, a couple, with children, or an extended family of many.

We recognize that government resources may be limited and that choices must be made when attempting to satisfy the social and economic needs of our citizens.  We regard the democratic process and the Democratic Party as a force for social good and a source of equity for balancing those needs.  We stand for a vigorous economy, fair wages, and a healthy society for ourselves and for our children.

We believe that a healthy environment promotes and supports the health and well-being of our people.  Good environmental laws and regulations protect our lives, our economy, and our freedom to enjoy the beauty of nature.

The Democratic Party is a party of reason, moderation, and diversity. We embrace diversity as a source of strength in our community rather than a reason for division. As such, we welcome the participation of all Utahns within the Democratic Party.
