Well, folks, two years of preparation come down to the next two months. We have the candidates, we have Peter Corroon at the top of the ticket, we have the support of the state party in targeting Weber County for a massive get-out-the-vote effort, and we have an off-year election where turnout will be low and the team that works the hardest to get out their voters usually wins. Now we just need to push for the finish line.

Our candidates have a goal to knock on 15,000 doors in Weber County this season. This is being organized geographically by legislative district. In support of this effort, we have printed 15,000 Voter Information booklets. We just need to get these into the hands of the voters. We will be using the latest computerized databases to try to target those voters who will be most open to persuasion. The message at the door will be simple: We respect your right to vote for whoever you feel will best represent you. But we ask that you look at each one of these candidates individually. We think you will like what you see.

How can you help? Simply contact the candidate from the legislative district you live in and volunteer. One night a week or a Saturday morning from just a few dozen volunteers will help us to easily get this done.

Are you as angry as I am about the deception, the nastiness, and the outright wackiness we’ve seen from the other side the last two years? Worried about what will happen to our nation and our state if those guys gain even more control over our lives? Here’s your chance to do something besides complain. And it will not be in vain. With Peter Corroon leading the charge, we can win this year.

Considering that Chris, like his father, was a Utah State Democratic delegate that year, this praise is not insignificant. Your temperament probably didn’t serve you well this year among the current crop of conservatives who prefer firebrands like Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh. Although he no longer lives in Utah, Chris was dismayed to hear how you were treated by the delegates of your party.

Well, something has been created that might interest you. I have been asked by the Corroon campaign to organize a series of blog posts for the group “People of Faith for Corroon”. The philosophy behind this group is that there are people of all faiths, and of all political persuasions, that recognize the truth of that great statement by Joseph Smith:

“We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion.”

Many Utahns recognize that excessive power in the hands of a few in our state has resulted in Utah straying from our common values, and that we need to restore political balance to restore those values to our state. The election of Peter Corroon is the right man to make this happen!

So, here’s the plan:

2. Read the current post, “Brother Brigham the Environmentalist”
3. If you like what you see, subscribe to the group on Corroon Country.
4. Every time a new post is submitted, you will get an e-mail notifying you.
5. When the new post comes out, copy the text into an e-mail and send it out to the good folks on your e-mail list, starting with the “Brother Brigham” post.
6. If you have a good idea for a post, send it to me at olsensl@aol.com, and after clearing it with the Corroon campaign, we’ll put it up.

What could be easier? If good people counter falsehoods with the truth, the good people of this state will respond.
